1st Form
The first form was created by someone taking either the original copy or writing the first copy in chinese calligraphy on a very thin piece of paper. Then it was lightly glued onto a piece of wood. The next step wood be for a very skilled carver to come and carve out the letters. Next you have the completed project a show in the picture to the left. This block could be used over and over again and then it was usually burned to keep the factory running.
2nd Form
The second form was made using clay. The clay would be carved or put in a mold. Then could be arranged how it needed to. The only set back with this new type was that it often broke therefore was it better? Sometimes they were made out of medal or wood
